More About The Fireplace Fitters Company
The Fireplace Fitters Company is a family business specialising in the fitting and servicing of fireplaces, fire surrounds, fires, media walls and stoves – gas, solid fuel and electric. We also supply and fit chimney liners, twin wall flue systems, chimney fans, pots and cowls. Our services are available to the general public, manufacturers, retailers (both Internet and showroom based), design companies, interior designers and building contractors.
We are based in Great Yeldham in Essex from where our fitting teams cover London, Bedford, Berkshire, Cambridge, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Middlesex, Suffolk and Surrey (other areas by request, please contact us to check our availability).
Our History
In 2002, after a successful 20-year career in fire manufacturing, Richard launched a gas fire installation company, initially working alongside B&Q. The company is now co-owned by Richard and Gemma, who, along with Paul, quickly joined the business and helped it grow. As solid fuel installations became more popular, Jordan joined the team and progressed to become a HETAS engineer.
In 2013, the company moved to larger premises, and Richard and Paul’s sons, Kai and Stefan, both qualified as gas engineers, HETAS engineers, and registered chimney sweeps. Amy joined the office team in 2017, becoming the key liaison between customers and engineers.
Since 2020, the company has evolved into The Fireplace Fitters Company Ltd., a trusted name in the industry. We now employ Gas Safe Registered and HETAS engineers, as well as registered chimney sweeps and full-time office staff who provide friendly customer service and support. We’re also excited to announce that our new showroom is set to be completed by the end of 2024.
In 2022, we became SSIP accredited, which enables us to work with both large and small companies, including new build and renovation projects, offering a full RAMS package.
We are a small, family-run business with teams based in Essex and Kent, covering a large area thanks to our expertise.
